Independent and Family Owned
Natalie taught in primary schools before opening First Class, so she knows what children need when they start Kindergarten. Through play, we build the confidence, independence and early skills that make that first day of school a lot easier.

Owner and Director, First Class Learning Centre
I opened First Class in 2013 because I wanted to create a centre with a true family feel, a place that feels like a second home for every child who walks through our doors.
As a former primary school teacher, I saw firsthand how much the early years shape a child. The children who thrived at school were confident, independent, socially capable and excited to learn, and that's exactly what we nurture every day.
As a mum of three, I understand how big it is to hand your child over each morning. That's why secure connections are at the heart of everything we do. Our small classes and stable, long serving team mean your child is known, loved and cared for by familiar faces.
I'm at both Maroubra and Chifley every week, and I'm your first point of contact from the moment you book a tour. Nothing makes me prouder than watching a nervous little one grow into a confident child ready for big school, seeing their face light up as they discover something new, and welcoming families who stay with us for years, siblings and all.
My hope is that every parent leaves at drop off with peace of mind, feeling welcomed and part of the First Class family, knowing their child is about to have a happy day full of learning. I'm so proud of our warm, qualified and passionate educators, who work together across both centres as one team.

What ages do you care for at your Maroubra and Chifley childcare centres?
Our Chifley centre cares for children from birth to 5 years: the Rainbow Room (0 to 2 years), the Sunshine Room (2 to 3 years) and the Golden Room (3 to 5 years). Our Maroubra centre cares for children from 18 months to 5 years: the Caterpillar Room (18 months to 3 years) and the Butterfly Room (3 to 5 years).
What are your opening hours?
Both centres are open from 7:30am to 6pm, 49 weeks of the year.
How much does childcare cost, and can I get the Child Care Subsidy?
Fees depend on your child's age and the days you book. Most families are eligible for the Australian Government's Child Care Subsidy (CCS), which lowers your daily fee. What is included in the daily fee?
Sunscreen, hats, meals, excursions and incursions, and our sports program are all included.
How big are the classes?
Both centres have small sized classrooms with individualised programming. Small groups and a stable, long serving team create a nurturing environment where strong connections form between children, families and educators.
Is First Class part of a chain?
No. First Class is privately owned and family run. Our owner, Natalie, is personally involved in both centres, so every decision is made for your child, not for shareholders.
How will I know how my child's day went?
We use the OWNA app to share updates, photos and messages about your child's day, straight to your phone. You can also message us through the app at any time.
How do you prepare children for school?
Our Butterfly Room at Maroubra and Golden Room at Chifley focus on preparing 3 to 5 year olds for big school. Through play, we build confidence, independence, early literacy and numeracy, and the social skills children need to start Kindergarten feeling ready. Natalie is a former primary school teacher, so she knows what children need.
Do you provide meals?
Yes, meals are provided each day. Please tell us about any allergies or dietary requirements when you enrol so we can support your child.
